If you've been reading my blog, you know that I love my VitaMix. I've had it for 20+ years and use it 3-4 times a week. I was at Costco a few weeks ago when they were doing VitaMix demonstrations. While making a taco soup, they used a spice blend made by Blend It Up. Anyway, I really liked the flavor of the soup, so, I bought the Blend It Up Southwest Spice Blend.
You can imagine my excitement, when I met the person who produces Blend It Up! Here is the exciting part......... he has given me some product for a contest!
I will be giving away 3 containers of Southwest Spice Blend from Blend It Up. Here's what you need to do; make a comment on this post telling me your favorite southwest food. I will take comments until Saturday Dec. 20, 2008 at 12 noon MST. I'll use random.org to select my winning numbers. Tell all of your friends to enter!
Also, if you make an order with Blend It Up (click here and it will take you to their web site), mention the Little Red Hen, and you will receive a gift! What is not to love about that!
What a fun contest and a great blog! I found your link on PYP. Okay, you are going to laugh, but our favorite southwest dish is taco soup (okay, not very original I know... but the kids are picky eaters!) I have a vitamix but I've never used it for soup... this would be a fun way to try it out! :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Vitamix, so I'm excited to learn more as I read your blog. You're very motivating in having me try new cooking methods and recipes. While Vitamix is completely new to me, a whole other cooking world has been going on without me. My favorite southwest food is a well seasoned, nutritious, black bean burrito.
ReplyDeleteMy parents live in Arizona, so we get to eat authentic southwest food often and we love it! Enchildas, burritos, tacos, navajo tacos, salsa, nachos, it's too hard to pick a favorite. I think chimichangas top the list, though.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how authentic it is but I LOVE the Citrus Fire Chicken and Shrimp fajitas at Chili's. But ONLY if it comes with the chimichurri sauce. Once we ate there and they told me they were out of chimichurri AFTER they brought my fajitas. GRRR! I sent them back. It's that good!
ReplyDeleteCilantro, Garlic and lime! What's not to love??? I'll bet chimichurri whips up prefectly in a Vitamix. ;)
I would say that one of our favorite southwest type foods is a 7 layer bean dip. My kids eat it up. I also have a black bean enchilada that is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this. We make homemade tacos all the time and this would really spice it up. lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

I found your link on Money Saving Moms and I love your blog! My favorite south west food has to be a great black bean burrito, with lots of cheese and some steak in there. Yum yum!
ReplyDeleteDo I have to pick just one favorite?!?! Chimichangas would have to be it, being that its deep fried may have something to do with it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to make steak piccata. (I'm sure that's not spelled correctly:))

Love your blog. Thanks fo the great contest. I make tacos, enchiladas, taco soup, and fajitas on a regular rotation in my house. My husband asks for tacos whenever I ask what he wants for dinner. Not sure how authentic this is but those are my families favorites. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI love flautas. They are like deep fried enchilladas. I'm sure they are so not good for me, but seeing as I only eat them about once a year, I don't care!
ReplyDeleteI love chimichangas, but I can't eat them too often! Thanks for the chance to win!

I love quesadillas and fajitas
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite is the Chicken Tortilla soup at the Albaquerque (can't spell that, but you get the jist) airport. It's to die for. Thanks for the giveaway - I'd love to try this!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite southwest food is "juevos con chile". I learned to make it while serving an LDS mission and luckily we have everything up here to make it still....YUM!
ReplyDeleteWe love Southwestern foods. Probably comes from my having lived in New Mexico for a few years. Tacos are a standard in our house.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I love trying new spices, so this would be a load of fun to try. I love making tacos, quesadillas, burritos and nachos! Thank you for the great giveaway!
